Saxby Coffee

I talked about Saxby coffee briefly in a previous post because of how much I was impressed with their coffee.
I originally tried their coffee in Stockton, Ca. My mother introduced them to me and I was in California long enough to have just one visit there. I would have liked to have tried more of their flavors and when I returned home, I immediately looked up their website to see if they had any locations in my area. There are a couple of Saxby’s in my area, but they really aren’t close by. However, I would be willing to make a stop at one of them every now and then.
I was talking to my mother one afternoon and she told me that the Saxby’s she had taken me to has closed down and are no longer in business. I was surprised and shocked! She said that she was too and she has a gift card there with a $19.00 balance on it.
She is going to try to use it in the Bay Area to just buy some ground coffee to take home, but if she doesn’t make it to the Bay Area, she said she will just send the gift card to me to use it in my area. That will be more of an incentive to make the drive to Saxby’s for me!

I missed my Coffee

The time I know that I am pregnant, I stop drinking coffee. They said that caffeine is not healthy for the baby. Eventhough that it’s hard to quit, I have to. The smells of coffee makes me crazy. The cravings of taste punish me. But I get over it for a few months now. I am on my third trimester and I am looking forward drinking my frapuccino. I have plans of what to order first and splurge myself for the few months of not taking it. No one could stop me of dropping by to a coffeeshop. It’s a matter of treating oneself.

Coffee can lose weight

While coffee may temporarily squelch your appetite, drinking a couple of cups a day won’t have enough of an effect to help you lose weight. Besides, pouring too much coffee into your system — drinking, say, four to seven cups a day — may lead to anxiety, sleeplessness, and an increase in heart rate and blood pressure.

Enjoy a cup or two of coffee (or tea) every day, if you please. Just be sure that if you add anything to the brew — like cream, sugar, or cocoa powder — you take those calories into account. What’s more, those calories might not make you feel as full as the same number of calories eaten in solid form.

Another coffee concern is sleep disruption, which new evidence reveals is linked to weight control. At least two studies have shown that when people are sleep-deprived, they produce more of the hormone ghrelin, an appetite stimulant, and less leptin, an appetite suppressant.

Air Freshener

There is an oldies’ saying that, you can judge a person’s being on how one keep or takes care of the the bathroom.

I hate a bathroom that stinks, smelly one, yuck!!  I always find a way to clean it everyday, just before taking my shower.  I spent 2 to 3 hours inside the bathroom including my bathing time.

I am obsessed in making it fresh smelling.  Tried all the scent available in the market.  But since air fresheners are getting expensive nowadays,  I thought of something cheap…..the coffee granules.

I placed about 1/4 cup of granules on a saucer and let it sit inside the bathroom.  Everytime I open the door, the smell of a fresh coffee envelopes the area.  What a nice smelling place. And it is cheaper…..

Even in our living room and kitchen area we use it too. Another way of being frugal.

Made my own coffee

Ok for millions, no billions, around the U.S., this is NO big deal and is totally normal.  Not for me.  I have never made coffee, ever!  I’m not a coffee drinker.  I enjoy a mocha something here and there, but its bought.  Well, I got a Senseo machine for free, just paid the $15 shipping, and got me some free dark roast coffee pods as well.  I have no idea what dark roast even IS (compared to light roast? hmm? Don’t know.)

Yesterday Starbucks was giving away free coffee to voters, then later changed it to everyone.  I thought that was good since 1/2 of New Mexicans voted early so it was not fair to have to show an “I Voted” sticker.  Well, I didn’t go get a coffee since I’m not addicted to coffee or anything.  But today as I was cleaning, I thought, I should make some coffee.

So I made one of those pods and using my Coffemate creamer I got free, in the Caramel flavor, I poured some into my coffee with Sweet-n-Low (since I was out of Splenda) and tried it.  Not bad.  I’m still not addicted, though.
