Coffee Lovers Rejoice in Health Benefits
Coffee drinkers can now sip their much needed cup of java with a smile. After years of being told how bad coffee is for us, it’s becoming increasingly clear that it’s not really so bad after all. Considering that millions of us need it daily just to make it through, this is good news.
Scientists have discovered in recent years that coffee drinkers are far less likely to develop a variety of diseases in comparison to those that never drink coffee. Parkinson’s is at the top of the list with astounding numbers that conclude coffee drinkers are among the least of those afflicted with the horrible disease. There are now also conclusions that hint at coffee being helpful in reducing the chances of developing Alzheimer’s as well.
Many of you may have noticed that well known medications like Tylenol are adding caffeine to their products. Caffeine is known to assist in eliminating headaches. This may also be why some of us get a headache when we’re late on our morning cup of joe.
Asthma sufferers should go ahead and pour another steaming cup. Scotland among other regions has been using the substance to battle the effects of the lung disease for centuries now. Upon reading through many reports from around the world, it seems there is no shortage to the wonders associated with coffee.
Did you ever think you would live to see the day when coffee was given credit for reducing the risk of cavities? It’s true! Not only that but it’s recently been recognized as lowering the risk of colon cancer and type 2 diabetes. Coffee appears to be quite the wonder drug. People who smoke and drink alcohol often while also consuming coffee show less signs of liver and heart disease than those who do not drink coffee. Outstanding!
As far as science is concerned, drinking coffee has more positive attributes than it does negative ones. Of course, take care to watch what you put in it. Vast amounts of sugar may catch up to you. But go ahead and pour that second or third cup if you wish. It’s good for you.
Folger’s Gourmet Coffee Line
I love flavored coffee, therefore, I am a huge fan of Starbucks. However, the nearest Starbucks is across town for me and not always convenient for a “spur of the moment” drink. I was at a friend’s house when she offered to make a cup of coffee for me. She came out of her kitchen with a coffee cup topped with a dollup of Cool Whip. I commented on how pretty the presentation was. It was not only pretty, but the best tasting coffee I had ever had at home! That particular flavor of coffee served to me by my friend was Folger’s “Creme Brulee” with Coffee Mate’s “French Vanilla” creamer, topped with Cool Whip. Yummy!
I have since fell in love with Folger’s “Chocolate Truffle”. I also use the French vanilla creamer and Cool Whip. It is more of a dessert than a coffee. My husband and I have now formed the habit of drinking a cup of this wonderful coffee after dinner each evening instead of indulging in a bowl of ice cream.
There are either 9 or 10 other flavors of the Folger’s line of gourmet coffee. I intend to try each and every one!
Nicole Ritchie Loves Starbucks!
At least it seems that way in this cute family photo! Mommy Nicole and Daddy Joel Madden are out with cutie Baby Harlow for a Starbuck’s morning run. They were both sporting casual black ensembles as Joel handled carrying the coffee, and Nicole tended to the baby. How domestic are these guys getting? Baby Harlow seems to be bringing such a sense of peace and calmness to Nicole! Thanks to Gossip Girls for the picture.
