Is Coffee the New Soda?
There’s a new trend among kids and teens. No I’m not talking about a new style of clothing or type of music. I’m talking about coffee. One of the fastest growing groups of coffee consumers is among adolescents and teenagers.
Decades ago, high school students would meet up at malt shops. Today, they are gathering at the coffee shops to indulge in coffee and its many variations along with conversation.
According to the national Coffee Association, 37 percent of 18 to 24 year olds are coffee drinkers. In fact a high school in Iowa even has a coffee shop right inside the school which is very popular among the student body. Other schools around the country. Which have similar set-ups, say students are starting to show up in class with a cup in hand.
This trend, which is growing in popularity, seems to be growing in acceptance as well.
