Coffee Art
Do you drink coffee every morning? When you go to your office and pass-by a Starbucks or any coffee shop, do you want to buy another cup? If yes, do you happen to go to coffee shops which serve these beverages with art? These are called latte art or coffee art.

The barista will create different arts and designs on top of the coffee drinks to make it look really appealing. I am not a coffee drinker myself because I don’t like the bitterness of coffee. But those latte art has tempted me to try and drink coffee again because it looks delicious because of the art. I actually just looked at the coffee art for a few moments before taking the plunge because once I touch the coffee art, it will be deformed.
Of course, the art on top didn’t make a difference to the taste in the coffee and still don’t like drinking it! But that was a nice experience.
So how are coffee arts or latte arts made? There are two ways of creating these pretty designs and sometimes both of these methods are combined to create a coffee masterpiece. The first method is to manipulate the flow of milk while pouring into the espresso. This is called “Free Pour Latte Art”. The second method is by simply drawing the designs using stencils, powders and milk foam. This method is called “Etching”.
I have seen a Korean Drama series which have a lot of these coffee arts shown and that’s how I was introduced to coffee art. It’s a new and refreshing way of marketing the old and trusted coffee drink!
