A long-term study signed by researchers from Harvard University and published in “Circulation” concluded that the use of filtered coffee, even when high -5 or 6 cups a day, not incremental risk of ischemic heart disease.
That relationship has been studied for many years if having achieved conclusive results. This study examined the relationship between consumption of coffee and a long-term disease in more than 44,000 men and more than 88,000 women with no history of heart disease or cancer at the beginning of the investigation.
Ischemic heart disease was diagnosed in 2,173 men follow-up for 14 years and 2,254 women follow-up for 20 years.
According to the results, the risk of ischemic heart disease fatal and non-fatal among consumers in 6 cups of coffee daily is the same as that among people who do not drink coffee. The authors warn that their research does not refer to the consumption of other types of coffee that are not filtered.
