Those Helpful Folks at the Counter-Finding my Favorites

pumpkin latteI’ve got to say that I’m just beginning to appreciate the wonderful world of coffee. It all started in Europe where my hosts had coffee several times a day; it was a standard part of a good long conversation. I’ve continued my enjoyment of coffee here in the states. I have found a couple of coffee houses that I go to every so often (1 Starbucks and 1 Coffee Cartel).

I have found that it pays to get a recommendation from the people behind the counter. Usually, the chances of you enjoying a coffee are better if you choose something that at least one other person in the world enjoys; also, the coffee people usually know their coffee (or at least what they personally like and dislike). I have not been able to muster up the courage to drink scalding hot, dark, black coffee fresh off the burner like Bad Bob the old west outlaw or my sweet grandmother Ruth. I have, however, found some tremendous ways of drinking coffee.

Each of these are recommendations that I recieved from the “coffee people” behind the counter:

1.) White Mocha - I think I ordered it as a White Chocolate Latte once, but I was quickly corrected. Whatever you call it, it’s delicious.

2.) Hazelnut Latte- Most flavored lattes are excellent, but this is one that was specially recommended to me. It really has got to be my favorite. If you’ve ever had the European chocolate/hazelnut spread called Nutella, this coffee reminds me of that European goodness…so good.

3.) Pumpkin Spice Latte- The Starbucks seasonal drinks shouldn’t be missed namely the Pumpkin Spice Latte (you can get it in Frappucino form too, which is just as good…maybe better?!)

4.) Frappucino- Vanilla, Carmel, or Mocha, whatever you get. These are like a party in your mouth. I’d pretty much rank them up there with a good old fashioned milkshake, but if you like coffee, you get an added bonus.

Enjoy these! I sure as heck have!
